Backed by $30M in funding, our platform empowers property owners and managers worldwide to efficiently manage and grow their business through technology.   Headquartered in sunny Barcelona, we're now a team of 380+ people representing over 60 nationalities, united by a passion for transforming the future of short-term rentals. ⭐️ Role Overview As a Senior Backend Developer in our Reservations Squad, you will take ownership of the financially critical heart of Lodgify’s platform—the booking lifecycle, financial calculations, and real-time availability calendar. You will tackle technical challenges head-on by advancing our event-driven architecture and completing critical database migrations while playing a key role in raising the bar for engineering reliability and team mentorship. ⭐ How will you make an impact? - Architect and evolve the booking core, managing the end-to-end lifecycle, quotes, taxes, fees, and financial ledger logic. - Drive event-driven messaging using RabbitMQ outbox/inbox patterns and Kafka (Avro) to guarantee reliable data fan-out across payments, messaging, and channel managers. - Lead the architectural transition from EF6/SQL Server to EF Core 8/PostgreSQL, executing zero-downtime schema updates that pave the way for continuous delivery. - Decouple high-churn aggregates by strengthening anti-corruption boundaries and isolating cross-domain communication. - Optimize our calendar backend-for-frontend service to deliver real-time availability and overbooking protection under strict latency requirements. - Elevate system reliability by defining SLOs, implementing robust idempotency patterns, and refining observability in Datadog. - Empower and mentor fellow engineers through constructive peer reviews, architectural documentation, and shared ownership of critical systems. ⭐ What makes you a great fit? - 7+ years of professional experience building scalable backend services in C# and .NET Core / .NET 8. - 3+ years of proven hands-on experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven architectures with RabbitMQ or Kafka. - Deep practical knowledge of database internals, Entity Framework / EF Core, and executing zero-downtime schema migrations on PostgreSQL or SQL Server. - Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, onion/layered architecture, and Anti-Corruption Layer (ACL) patterns. - Strong focus on operational excellence, testing, logging/APM instrumentation (Datadog), and idempotency design. - A collaborative mindset focused on mentoring teammates, writing clear documentation, and solving complex problems pragmatically. ⭐ How can you earn extra bonus points? - Experience working in a microservices architecture. - Knowledge use of DevOps tech.
