Hit like a giant. POSITION We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own and mature reliability, performance, and security across our growing platform. This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security, helping design, operate, and continuously improve the systems that keep dozens of consumer apps running for users around the world. You’ll work closely with product engineering teams to keep our systems healthy. You’ll run and improve our Kubernetes environment, build better monitoring and alerting, and help the team respond to incidents. Our SRE practice is still young, so you’ll get real ownership and the chance to shape how it grows. You don’t need to have built an SRE function before. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING - Run, scale, and upgrade our Kubernetes (GKE) clusters on Google Cloud together with the platform team. - Improve monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerting so we catch problems early and cut down on noisy alerts. - Help define and track SLOs for our most important services. - Take part in the on-call rotation, help resolve production incidents, and run blameless postmortems. - Build and maintain Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, and automate repetitive manual work. - Apply security basics across the platform: access control, secrets management, image scanning, and regular patching, working with our security team. - Help plan capacity and keep cloud costs sensible. - Contribute to backup and disaster recovery planning and testing. WHAT YOU’LL BRING? - 4+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform, or backend infrastructure roles, working on production systems. - Hands-on experience running workloads on Kubernetes in production. You’re comfortable troubleshooting pods, deployments, networking, and scaling. - Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure), plus solid Linux and networking basics. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) and CI/CD tools. - Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar. - Scripting skills in at least one language (Python, Go, Bash, etc.). - Experience being on call and working through production incidents, plus clear communication with engineers and stakeholders. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with SLOs and error budgets, or leading incidents as incident commander. - Experience running and upgrading clusters day to day, or with multi-cluster setups. - GitOps (Argo CD or Flux) and canary or blue-green deployments. - Service mesh, API gateways, or Cloudflare. - Backends for high-traffic consumer or mobile apps, or AI/ML workloads. - Cloud cost optimization (FinOps). - Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or DevSecOps practices. - Chaos engineering or disaster recovery drills. - Kubernetes or cloud certifications. OUR ENVIRONMENT GKE, Google Cloud, Terraform, CI/CD and GitOps tooling, modern observability tools, and Cloudflare. Experience with these exact tools is a plus, not a requirement. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Within your first 12 months, you’ll help establish and mature key reliability capabilities, including: - SLOs defined and reported for our most critical services. - Faster incident detection and resolution, with postmortem action items tracked to completion. - A more secure Kubernetes setup, with fewer gaps in access control, secrets, scanning, and patching. - More of our infrastructure managed through Terraform, and better monitoring coverage. - Less manual work for the team because more of it is automated.
