Main Purpose : The Operations HSE Specialist will provide HSE leadership across Impala’s global operations, driving effective risk management, employee engagement, contractor safety, incident prevention, and continuous improvement. As part of the Global HSE Team, the role strengthens HSE standards, reporting, assurance, and learning, supporting compliance, ESG reporting, and informed decision-making across the Group. Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ​ - Lead HSE initiatives, supporting business leaders and promoting a strong safety culture. - Assess risks, lead incident investigations, and drive corrective and preventive actions. - Manage HSE performance and drive continuous improvement across operations. - Ensure compliance with legal, corporate, customer, and relevant ISO requirements, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001. - Support contractor management, audits, inspections, training, and employee engagement. - Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote standard methodologies and operational excellence. - Ad hoc projects: - Participate to the development and optimisation of HSE processes and workflows - Drive HSE digitalisation, automation, and data-driven solutions to improve risk management and decision-making. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Hold a relevant degree in HSE, Engineering or a related field. - Bring 5–7 years of proven experience in Operational HSE, governance, assurance, and performance reporting, preferably within a high-risk industry such as terminals, logistics, oil & gas, construction, mining, aviation, or heavy industry. - Lead HSE assurance programmes, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions across multiple sites, regions, or business units. - Demonstrate knowledge of HSE frameworks, risk assessment, data governance, analytics, dashboards, and management reporting. - Lead projects, system implementations, process improvements, and change initiatives, including workflow building and systems integration. - Demonstrate strong collaborator management, leadership, mentoring, and influencing skills, with the ability to work successfully across functions and regions. - Apply a strategic, analytical, and data-driven approach to problem-solving and ongoing improvement. - Influence and make recommendations aligned with business objectives, operational risk, and global compliance requirements. - Demonstrate experience with HSE management systems such as Intelex. - Communicate fluently in English and Spanish, with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. External - Contractors, Vendors & Third parties
